Towcester Church of England Primary School

We will send the children out, as Noah did the dove (Genesis 8:8-12), having nurtured and prepared them for life. Knowing that they are valued and can fly and can take the values of the school out into the world.

School Meals

Our school meals are provided by 'abm' and are cooked from fresh on site by a trained chef. The children have a choice of a meat or vegetable main, jacket potato or sandwiches. In addition, there is bread, fresh salad and dessert.

Pupils in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and 2 are entitled to a free lunch because of their age. ('Universal Free School Meals' scheme from the Government.)

If you think your child may be eligible for free school meals due to financial reasons please see the letter below, you can apply here.

Meals cost £2.30 a day and should be booked and paid for through 'Parent Pay'. Please see below for the link.

Break Times

The children are encouraged to have a healthy snack at break time and a drink from their water bottle.

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children have access to free fruit provided by the Government.

Children under the age of 5 can have a drink of milk free of charge and those over the age of 5 can pay for a carton of milk to be delivered to school.

All children can bring in a fruit snack from home if preferred or a 'Second Breakfast'. The second breakfast is a healthy carbohydrate snack that may aid children in their concentration half way through the morning. The second breakfast can be:

  • a small bread roll
  • crackers
  • sandwich

Parents are requested to put a healthy filling in the second breakfast. A thin spread of jam is acceptable but please do not use chocolate paste. Please ensure the second breakfast is just a snack - and not a lunch - because the children only have a 15 minute break and we believe running round the playground with friends to be just as important!
