All of our children belong to a 'House'. Year groups are mixed and they work with two teachers and teaching assistants. Each house has a colour. The houses meet once a term for a meeting and discuss their points and consider how to work best as a team.
The children earn house points by showing good behaviour or displaying one of our school values. Each 'Gold Star' they earn for super pieces of work or for making good progress in class are also converted to house points. At the end of every term, all house points for each house are counted. The winning team for the term claim the 'House Trophy' and are rewarded with a mufti day when no one else is having one.
If a member of the team gets an amber or red card (as mentioned in our 'Good to be Green' policy) 5 or 10 points are deducted from the total respectively. Those children who receive a 'red card' (and this only happens occasionally) are not allowed to take part in their House Mufti if their team wins for that term.
