Governors

 

A warm welcome to our school website from all the governors on our Local Governing Board.

Towcester CE Primary School is an academy school under Peterborough Diocese Education Trust (a Charity and a Company limited by Guarantee). 

The role of the governing board is to provide strategic leadership and accountability and our responsibilities include:

  • developing the strategic plan for the school,
  • determining the vision, aims, policies and priorities,
  • monitoring and evaluating the progress the school is making towards the achievement of its aims and objectives
  • be a source of challenge and support to the headeacher (a critical friend).

Our Local Governing Board is made up of parents, staff and members of the local community and we bring a wide variety of skills, knowledge and experience to the leadership and management of the school along with a commitment to improving education for all pupils and to the school’s vision and ethos.

The full Local Governing Board meets at least three times a year with the following sub committees, which are responsible to the Governing Board, meeting more often:

Personnel: This committee is responsible for monitoring staffing

Finance: This committee is responsible for monitoring finance and expenditure. 

Curriculum: This committee is responsible for monitoring teaching and learning.

Premises, Health & Safety Working Party: The working party feeds back to Finance and to the full Governing Board.
